What Teachers Value

Thanks to those who completed the end-of-pilot survey!  We were happy to learn what teachers most valued about ROSA: 1) standards-based, 2) targets students' needs, and 3) saves time.  Here are some highlights from what ROSA pilot teachers are saying:

Standards-based

  • “It aligns perfectly with the standards.”
  • “ROSA helps teachers to unwrap standards with ease.”
  • “It is aligned with our Benchmarks and helps prepare for [state] testing.”

Targets students' needs

  • “Allows for increased differentiation of instruction which enables me to meet the varying needs of my students ... I can tell [ROSA] knows what teachers need to plan for their students’ needs.”
  • “We use sentence frames in our planning. It was great to have samples at the different language levels.”
  • “The leveled passages are great for reading groups.”
  • “We regroup for 30 minutes every day in my grade level. It was a GREAT resource to pull mini-lessons from.”
  • “Provided many options for reteaching and accelerating students.”

What Works

The mid-pilot survey revealed that after standards, the most widely used resources in ROSA are sentence frames and CST questions. Sentence frames more popular than worksheets? It's a sign of teachers being attuned to the needs of their English Learners, supporting them to express their thoughts in complete sentences using academic language. Learn more about sentences frames.

The resources in ROSA are carefully selected and organized to help teachers meet the diverse needs of their students. The new "What Works" page highlights the research-based practices underlying the resources. Read more »

New design

We redesigned how resources are laid out for each standard.  The resources are the same as before, but hopefully, you'll find them easier to get to now.  Thanks to those who gave us feedback and helped us streamline the layout!  Let us know what you think of the new design.  We'd love the feedback!  Thanks.
